Weddle, Calvin Weddle, Samuel P. Weddle, Joel Weddle. (Second row) Kane Weddle, Harvey
Weddle (deceased at the time of the photograph), "France" (Frances) Weddle and
Elizabeth Weddle Hylton. The family belonged to the Church of the Brethren, and the beards
on the men and the small white cap on the woman were customs of the religion at that time.

A wedding photograph of Isaac and Christina Boyd of Meadows
of Dan, Virginia. Standing behind the wedding couple is Bill Berg and Annie Walters.
When this photo was printed in The Mountain Laurel in 1983, we received
a letter from a lady who was the daughter of Isaac and Christina Boyd. She said that their
family house had burned when she was a child and all was lost. She didn't realize other
family members had any old photographs of her parents, and when she saw this one, it was
the first time she had ever seen her parent's wedding picture! She was overjoyed! |
