Issue: August, 1986

The Carroll County, Virginia Historical Society, in cooperation with owners, Bert and Marlene Widner, is conducting tours in the famous Sidna Allen House.

The Sidna Allen House, located on U.S. Highway 52, north of the Blue Ridge Parkway, is listed as a State Historic Landmark because of its unique Queen Anne architecture. It was built in 1911.

Tours will be given every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-5:00 pm. It will also be staffed from 1:00-5:00 pm on August 29th and September 1st, [1986] for Labor Day Weekend. Admission is $1.00 for adults and 50¢ for children six to sixteen. Children under six will be admitted free.

A brochure about the Sidna Allen House has been prepared by the Historical Society and is available by writing the Carroll County Historical Society President, Woodrow Bedsaul, P.O. Box 67, Lambsburg, VA 24351.

The Historical Society is a non-profit organization and is trying to build a Museum Fund in the hopes of someday owning property where items of historical significance may be collected and displayed for public viewing.
