Caleb & Henry

Introducing Caleb & Henry

By Susan M. Thigpen © 1983-2012

Before there was "Grumpy Old Men," there was Caleb and Henry, two crusty old mountain men invented in stories in The Mountain Laurel. Caleb and Henry made their first appearance in 1983 and showed up every now and then in the years to follow. Created by Bob Heafner and sometimes written by Susan Thigpen, the two old men went through adventures both humorous and poignant.

They are lifelong friends, as close as any two people could be, and yet can't be together five minutes without starting an argument - and they wouldn't have it any other way.

We have had readers who said the stories are so believable, they can't believe they aren't real. I guess there's a little Caleb and Henry in people we all know and love.
