She was born April 22, 1877 in Fancy Gap, Carroll County, Va. they lived at Lambsburg for a while, later moved to Riverview, a section of Coeburn, Va. While living there, Grandpa Henry Dobson Bates lost his arm while working in the coal mines. Later moved from Riverview to a section of Norton, Va. called the Nettle Patch. There they lived and raised ten children. They are both buried in the Bates Cemetery in the Nettle Patch. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

[Dear Editor,]
I am seeking information on Joshua Redwine and his wife Rosana (Price?) Redwine, born in North Carolina and migrated into Elk Garden, Russell County, Virginia around 1800.

They raised a large family there, namely David Bolling, who at one time lived in Tazewell County, Virginia. Rolling Russell, Mariah, Ann, Jane, Elizabeth, Nancy, Salomon, and my great grandfather, Joshua Redwine, Jr., who married Catherine McNew, daughter of Elisha McNew II and Jane Sutton Redwine.

Joshua Redwine, Sr. and wife Rosana, and daughter Mary are buried on the Stuart Farm at Elk Garden, Virginia.

We have not been able to find the parents of Joshua Sr. and Rosana, his wife.

I would be glad to exchange information with anyone working on the same lines. Any information would be appreciated.
