Mountain Laurel,
I was very interested in the article about tracing your roots through historical societies. My roots are in Patrick County, Va and there was not an address for Patrick County. Could you please tell me if Patrick County has a historical society?

Thank you,

K. Plaster
Basset, Virginia

Dear Ms. Plaster,
The address is:

Patrick County Historical Society
P.O. Box 1045
Stuart, Virginia 24171

While we are on the subject of Historic Societies, I have a correction to make. The Montgomery County Museum address is P.O. Box 31, Christiansburg, VA. 24073. Also add to the list of historical societies:

New River Historical Society
P.O. Box 373
Newbem, VA 24126

[Dear Editor,]
I am interested in anything anyone knows about Lewis Washington Lancaster (born about 1791 and died about 1854). He was probably born in Bedford County but spent most of his adult life, I am told, around the Pine Creek area of Floyd. He is supposed to have been a schoolmaster and also practiced as a herb (Thomsonian) doctor. He was my great, great grandfather.

[Dear Editor,]
I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me where the Tipton Cemetery is located in Pulaski County, Virginia.
